Virginia man killed in vehicle vs tractor trailer wreck on William Natcher Parkway

Kentucky State Police troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers investigated a fatal collision Wednesday on the William Natcher Parkway.

According to KSP, troopers responded to the wreck just after noon around the 58 mile-marker of the William Natcher Parkway where a preliminary investigation revealed 79 year old Gable Andrews, of Chesapeake VA, was operating a 2011 GMC Acadia northbound on the William Natcher Parkway when he ran into the rear of a 2009 Peterbilt tractor pulling a tanker-trailer driven by 42 year old William Isley, of Lafollette, TN. Police say after the collission, Andrews lost control of his vehicle, veered off into the median where his vehicle overturned and ejected him. Authorities say it was evident Andrews was not wearing a seatbelt and investigators believe speed may be a contributing factor to the collision.

KSP indicates Isley pulls for Time DC trucking and he was not injured in crash.

One lane of the north and southbound were closed for nearly three hours for the reconstruction and clean-up. Some traffic was diverted to highway 69 (Hartford/Fordsville exit).

Trooper First Class Tim Payne and Trooper Adam Wright investigated the collision.  The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement; Ohio County Sheriff’s Department; Ohio County Coroner’s Office; KY Highway Department and Ohio County EMS assisted at the scene.
