VCSO NEWS REEASE

On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at approximately 9:39 pm, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Diamond Avenue involving multiple injuries.

On-scene investigation and witness statements indicated that a silver 1997 Honda Civic operated by Mr. Michael J. Douglas of Wadesville Indiana had been traveling westbound on Diamond Avenue at Mesker Park Drive when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle crossed through the median, entered the eastbound lanes of Diamond Avenue and then traveled down an embankment before overturning and coming to rest upside down in a heavily wooded area.

One of the passengers, Mr. Zachary Allison of Poseyville Indiana, managed to extricate the other two occupants from the vehicle and drag them up the embankment to the side of the roadway. All three occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Preliminary test results indicated that Mr. Douglas had both alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash. Mr. Douglas was treated at the hospital and later booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. Mr. Allison was treated at the hospital and released. Another passenger, Ms. Calista MacGregor of Chandler Indiana, was admitted to the hospital with possible internal injuries
