USCO releases details of 3-vehicle wreck on US 60 at KY 669 Monday; Morganfield woman injured

Local authorities indicate a Morganfield woman was injured in the three vehicle collision on US 60 at KY 669 in Waverly Monday night.

Union County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Steinhoff reports deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene of the crash around 6:20 p.m. Monday where a tractor-trailer driven by Troy Varble of Robards was traveling eastbound on US 60 following a vehicle that stopped to make a left turn onto KY 669. Varble reportedly did not see the vehicle had stopped for traffic until the last second and tried to avoid hitting it, causing the semi to skid and slide into the westbound lane and crash into a Cadillac driven by Mary Wood of Morganfield. Deputy Steinhoff indicates the tractor-trailer then jack-knifed. Wood’s vehicle spun around into the eastbound lane of US 60 and hit a Trail Blazer driven by David Adamson of Morganfield. His SUV then exited the roadway onto property at 131 West Depot Street owned by William Nally, which caused damage to his yard.

According to Deputy Steinoff , Wood was transported by ambulance to Union County Methodist Hospital for treatment of possible back injuries. No other injuries were reported. He indicates all vehicles were towed from the scene.
