US 60 Work Zone At OWENSBORO Comes Down- Temporary Lane Restrictions Continue for About a Week

Commuters in the OWENSBORO area are getting a break from work zone lane restrictions along US 60/Wendell Ford Expressway in Daviess County.

The extended work zone around Owensboro came down late Thursday afternoon. All lanes are open to normal traffic flow.

The contractor has some additional finish work that can be competed over the next week with limited daytime lane restrictions in localized areas. The contractor will be placing edge line rumble strips and completing a number of small checklist items under temporary traffic restrictions.

SPECIAL THANKS to all of the commuters in Owensboro who have heroically endured a lot of detours and traffic restrictions since work started back in March. Thank you for your patience.

This was the first major rehabilitation of US 60 around Owensboro in more than 45 years. With a little luck, it will hopefully be another 45 years or more before we have to go through this again.
