Local Enforcement Agencies with Union County received naloxone or “Narcan” through a grant from the Union County ASAP Board, according to Uniontown Chief Police Jeffery Hart. Hart states this Naloxone is specifically designed for “Officer Rescue” in the event of an accidental exposure of a police officer to the new designer Opioids, Fentanyl, or Carifentanyl. The Uniontown Police Department and Sturgis Police Department each received four doses. The Morganfield Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s office each recieved 6 doses. This ensures that on the scene of any joint search warrant where an accidental exposure might occur, there will be at least four doses of Naloxone present. Union County Law Enforcement appreciates the support of the Union County ASAP Board in funding this “Officer Rescue” Project.
