Authorities are warning local residents the IRS scammers are at it again.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reports they have had several reports from citizens in the community who have received calls from the scammers claiming to be with the IRS. They want to remind local residents the IRS will not call you and advise you of any lawsuits or request information over the phone. In addition, the local sheriff’s office wants to remind you to never give your personal or financial information over the phone to someone claiming to be from the IRS.
Kentucky State Police and several other law enforcement agencies in the Tri-State area are also reporting an increase in IRS scam calls.
