Union Co. Fiscal Court Magistrates Approve Working 2016-2017 Budget

During this morning’s meeting, Union County Fiscal Court magistrates unanimously approved the presentation of the working 2016-2017 Budget for the county. Judge-Executive Jody Jenkins presented the working budget for a total of $9,663,421.53. The first reading of the 2016-2017 budget will be prior to June 1, 2016.

In other action, magistrates unanimously approved annual advertising for road materials on May 4, 2016 and May 11, 2016 with the open bids to be on May 24, 2016.

And Judge-Jenkins proclaimed April as Union County Adult Education College Readiness Month, Fair Housing Month and Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

And just a reminder, there will be public hearing at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016, for the public to make comments regarding the construction of a solid waste transfer station that Gus Kanipe of Tri-County Waste has submitted an application to build on US 60.

The next regularly scheduled fiscal court meeting will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Union County Courthouse.
