Union Co. Fiscal Court Magistrates approve grant for Caseyville Boat Dock, open bids for dump truck

During Tuesday’s meeting, Union County Fiscal Court magistrates approved a memorandum of agreement for a grant to make upgrades at the Caseyville Boat Dock, reviewed bid openings for a tri-axle dump truck and approved the first reading of a budget amendment.

Judge Executive Jody Jenkins presented the memorandum of agreement with the National Park Service’s Conservation Plan for over 99-thousand dollars.

District 3 Magistrate Chuck Voss says this has been a long day coming.

In other business, magistrates approved the first reading of a budget amendment as presented by Judge Jenkins.

District 1 Magistrate Gary Day made a motion to not increase the price of dog tags purchased at the Union County Dog Pound.

And magistrates reviewed bids submitted from Vomac Truck Sales & Service and Worldwide Equipment for a tri-axle dump truck. Magistrate Joe Clements made a motion to take the bids under advisement and for each magistrate to review the bids. Also, Clements included in the motion for the fiscal court to have a special called meeting for 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 for magistrates to approve one of the submitted bids for the tri-axle dump truck.

In other action, magistrates unanimously approved the appointments of Jennifer McElroy and Thomas Lewis to the Union County Library Board of Trustees; and accepted the Claims, Transfers and April 2916 Treasurer Report.
