The voice of Union County agriculture, Union County Extension Ag Agent Rankin Powell, is retiring.
During an interview via telephone this week, Rankin told me has been at the local extension office and producing his radio program here on WMSK for 19 years and three (3) months.
Laughingly, Rankin said there was always a sure way to tell when people listened to his radio program.
After he retires, Rankin says, kiddingly, he will still be busy.
When I asked him what he liked most about his job, he took a more serious tone.

The public is invited to retirement celebration for Rankin from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Union County Extension Office located at 1938 U.S. Highway 60 West in Morganfield.
