Unemployment rate fell in Union Co. between October 2015 and October 2016

Unemployment rates fell in 82 Kentucky counties, including Union, between October 2015 and October 2016, rose in 33 and stayed the same in five counties, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.
In Union County, the jobless rate fell to 6.1 percent in October 2016 from 6.6 percent in October 2015.
In Crittenden County, the unemployment rate rose to 4.7 percent in October 2016, compared to 4.6 percent in October 2015.
In Henderson County, the jobless rate for October 2016 was 4.7 percent, up from 4.5 percent in October 2015.
In Webster County, the unemployment rate rose to 5.1 percent in October 2016, compared to 4.8 percent in October 2015.
State officials report the jobless rate stayed the same in the counties of Breckinridge, Knott, Laurel, McLean and Powell.
Woodford County continued to record the lowest jobless rate in Kentucky at 3 percent, while Magoffin County continued to record the highest jobless rate in the state at 14.1 percent.
Unemployment statistics are based on estimates and are compiled to measure trends rather than actually to count people working. They do not include unemployed Kentuckians who have not looked for employment within the past four weeks.
