UCSO: Noise complaint leads to drug arrest of Sturgis man

A noise complaint landed a Sturgis man behind bars charged for possessing meth.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kyle Dame was dispatched to an apartment on US 60 West of Sturgis Wednesday night around 11:40 regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival, authorities say 35 year old Jason Wood allowed Deputy Dame into the apartment where he saw a small baggie of white substance. Wood was taken into custody and reportedly admitted the white substance in the baggie was methamphetamine. After he signed a consent to search warrant, authorities say he told Deputy Dame he would find more drug paraphernalia in the apartment. At the time of his arrest, it was also determined by authorities Wood had an active Bench Warrant out of Webster County.

Wood was lodged in the Union County Detention Center for first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
