Local authorities say a 21 year old Morganfield man was killed this morning in a single vehicle wreck in Union County.
Union County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Thomas tells WMSK News deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene of the wreck around 5:40 a.m. Thursday on KY 56 East near State Route 983 where an investigation showed Jonathan L. Willett crossed over into the other lane of traffic and overcorrected, sending his pickup truck into a spin. He says the truck then exited the right side of the roadway, rolled over several times and ejected Willett before coming to rest about 60 feet off of the roadway.
According to Deputy Thomas, Willett was treated on the scene by emergency responders from the Whispering Meadows Fire Department and Morganfield Rescue Squad. He was then transported by ambulance to Union County Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
Kentucky State Police also assisted local authorities on the scene of the fatal accident.
