Two teenagers were tragically killed in a single vehicle wreck near Smithland early this morning.
Kentucky State a Police Post 1 Mayfield reports a preliminary investigation revealed 18 year old Katie B. McFarland of Ledbetter was driving southbound on KY 453 around 12:30 Saturday morning when her vehicle ran off the road for an unknown reason. State Police say as the vehicle traveled down an earth embankment it overturned, crashed into a tree and caught fire.
McFarland and an unrelated 16 year old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County Coroner.
Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
