An event to help raise funds for a 14 year old boy, who needs prosthetic irises to preserve and regain functional site, will be held Saturday.

Organizer of the Tri-State Spring Fling – Xakhary’s Fight for Sight Event and Eagles President Steve Utley explains his grandson’s need for the surgery.

He says they have received financial help for the expensive surgery from a local and national organization.

Eagles Conductor David Russell says there are events for the entire family.

There will also be a lot of items to be raffled off, and they will have people going around the event to sell the tickets.

Utley adds that there will be a very nice trip that you can win.

Plus, Russell says the Glastones will be performing at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, and there will be lots of food and fun for the entire family.

Utley indicates the Tri-State Spring Fling will become an ongoing yearly event.

The event to help raise funds for Xakhary Abercombie will be held at the Union County Fairgrounds at the Arnold Arena. Again, the gates open at 7:00 a.m. Saturday and vendors will be open at 10:00 a.m.

Tri-State Spring Fling April 16

“Tri-State Spring Fling—Xakhary’s Fight for Sight”–Saturday, April 16 at the Union County Fairgrounds/Arnold Arena to raise funds for a Xakhary Aberrombie, who needs prosthetic irises to preserve and regain functional sight.  This “fun for the entire family” event includes concessions; bounce houses; petting zoo; entertainment by the Glastone Band; and more including:

 ++Tri-State Corn Hole Tournament-$60 per two person teams, includes T-shirts.  Registration deadline is April 10.  Register by calling Steve Utley-270-952-0557; David Russell—270-952-6772; or Scott Elder–836-0653.  Stats at 10 a.m.

 ++Craft & Direct Sales Vendor Show–$30 rental for a 10 by 10 spot-10 a.m. till 5 p.m.  Register by calling Stephanie Hall, 270-997-1418 or David Russell.

 ++Poker Run by Wicked Webbs Riding Club.  Registration at 10 a.m. and includes a meal.  Starts at 11 a.m. event.  Fee is $15 for single and $20 for double riders.  Call Dustin “Froggy” Webb for more information, 270-952-2088 or David “Bonez” Webb, 270-823-7172.

 ++5K Fun Run sponsored by The Living Room on Main Street.  Race starts at 9 a.m. and registration at 8. $15 for timed runners and 45 for fun runners.  Pre-registration is recommended-forms available at The Living Room at the corner of Main & Court street in downtown Morganfield.
