Traffic stop nets arrest of Morganfield man for drug possession charges

A traffic stop in Morganfield Monday night led to the arrest of a 23 year old local man for possessing drugs.

Morganfield Police Assistant Chief Chris Toman tells WMSK News that Officer Stefon Douglas initiated a traffic stop Monday night around 10:20 on a vehicle driving on East Waverly Street with no headlights. During the investigation, he reports 23 year old Dylan Cook of Morganfield was taken into custody after drugs and drug paraphernalia were located.

Cook was lodged in the Union County Detention Center for Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License.
