Traffic Crossover & Lane Shift on KY 603/Pleasant Valley Rd Connector at OWENSBORO on THURSDAY, Oct 8

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a traffic crossover and lane shift along a section of the KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector in OWENSBORO on Thursday, October 8, 2015.

The traffic crossover and lane shift along KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector is to allow the contractor to remove the existing traffic signal and T intersection at the KY 603 intersection with former US 60 so the area can be reconstructed to a new permanent alignment.

This work zone is along KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector between mile point 0.8 and 1.2. This is approximately ½ mile south of the KY 144/East 4th Street Intersection.

Motorist should be prepared to encounter a crossover and a traffic shift along the 4-lane section of KY 603 at the Railroad Overpass near Rural King to allow tie-ins for the new alignment and removal of the old roadway.

Traffic is already restricted to one lane in each direction through this work zone. Motorists should be prepared to encounter the new temporary traffic pattern starting Thursday.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

This is among the final remaining connections for the US 60 Extension Project at Owensboro. Yager Materials of Owensboro is the prime contractor on the $72.7 million U.S. 60 Extension Project which opened to traffic in September 2014. Since then, work has continued on a wide range of final connections and alignment changes along the old route of US 60.
