March 21st, 2017
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime work zone lane restriction along US 60 near the Henderson Community College Campus on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
This is part of a project to widen US 60 to 4 lanes with a center turn lane from the intersection with KY 136 and the KY 425 Henderson Bypass at milepoint 8.710 extending westward to milepoint 7.7, a distance of 1 mile.
On Thursday, the contractor will be placing mulch on excavated areas. The work zone configuration may change from time to time to facilitate the work.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., CDT, on Thursday.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. The contractor plans to be on site along the right of way anytime weather allows. The contractor willl provide advance notice of any lane restrctions that may be required as the work progresses.
Hazex Construction is the prime contractor on this $6,070,770 highway improvement project. This project is about 25% complete. The target completion date is October 13, 2017.
