A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is ramping up work along US 60 near the Henderson Community College Campus starting Monday, January 30, 2017.
The contractor plans to restrict traffic to one lane along US 60 near the Henderson Community College Campus during daylight hours.
This is part of a project to widen US 60 to 4 lanes with a center turn lane from the intersection with KY 136 and the KY 425 Henderson Bypass at milepoint 8.710 extending westward to milepoint 7.7, a distance of 1 mile.
Starting Monday, motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., CST, on weekdays whenever weather allows.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. The contractor plans to be on site along the right of way anytime weather allows. The contractor will provide advance notice of any lane restrictions that may be required as the work progresses.
Hazex Construction is the prime contractor on this $6,070,770 highway improvement project. The target completion date is October 13, 2017
