Three injured in two vehicle wreck in Union County

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on US 60 E this evening.

Morganfield Rescue Squad Chief Rick Wyatt tells WMSK News that the wreck occurred in front of Sonoco. He says a male and female were in a vehicle and the male was extricated after being trapped for about 45 minutes.

Chief Wyatt reports the patients were treated on the scene by responders and EMS crews. Three people were reportedly transported to area hospitals.

According to Morganfield Fire Chief Rick Millikan, the Morganfield Rescue Squad, Morganfield Fire Department, Union County Fire Rescue, Whispering Meadows Fire Department, Union and Henderson EMS, and the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, while the Whispering Meadows Fire Department stood by at the Morganfield Fire Station to cover the city.

At this time, no other details have been released.
