Thanksgiving Holiday Alters Schedules

NEWS RELEASE

HENDERSON, KY, November 21, 2016– The Thanksgiving holiday is altering work schedules for trash collection, Parks Department offices and other City services and the recycling center.

There will be no trash collection on Thursday or Friday. Sanitation crews picked up Monday and Tuesday routes on Monday.

On Tuesday the schedule is: Wednesday routes and that part of the Thursday routes that lie south of 2nd Street to Dixon, Martin Luther King, and O’Byrne, and east from Water Street to Atkinson Street.

On Wednesday, the schedule is: Remainder of Thursday routes and all of Friday routes.

Residential collections will begin at 6 a.m. each working day during this week.
The landfill will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. It will reopen Saturday, Nov. 26, at 7 a.m.
The Henderson County Recycle Center will be closed Nov. 24-26 and will reopen on Monday, Nov. 28. After-hours/holiday drop-off is available at the gate located at 389 Sam Ball Way. That’s for recyclables only. Household garbage should be taken to the landfill.

At the Parks and Recreation Department, the administrative offices and the John F. Kennedy Community Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

The Henderson Municipal Golf Course will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 25.

The Henderson Municipal Center at 222 First St. will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen on Monday, Nov. 28.
