Sturgis Woman injured in a Car Wreck Easter Sunday

According to Union County Sheriff Deputy Lee Chandler, on Sunday April 16th at approximately 6:00 AM, the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle collision located on Hwy 60 West near H&R Power Equipment. The Vehicle driven by Melissa Vinroe of Sturgis was traveling eastbound when for an unforeseen reason veered over the westbound land onto the shoulder striking a guard rail head-on. The vehicle then traveled toward H&R flipping an undetermined amount of times, falling into the ditch between H&R and Hwy 60 West. The Driver was thrown out of the vehicle found in a ditch several feet from the Driver’s door. The Driver was taken to St. Mary’s by Helicopter. An Investigation is on-going pending blood toxicology report from the hospital.
