Sturgis City Council appoints and approves Alcohol Beverage Control Administrator

During last night’s regularly scheduled meeting, Sturgis City Council appointed an ABC Administrator and Deputy, and city council honored Sturgis Elementary School for KPREP 2014-2015.

City Clerk Cindy Carr tells WMSK News Sturgis Council members unanimously agreed to the appointment of Councilman Doug Rodgers as the Alcohol Beverage Control Administrator and Carr was appointed as Deputy now that the entire city of Sturgis is wet after the wet/dry special election in September.

Mayor Mike Hardesty and council members also proclaimed November 2, 2015 as Sturgis Elementary School Day in recognition of the outstanding achievement of students and faculty after the elementary school reached Distinguished status in the state’s Unbridled Learning Accountability System, the first time ever a Union County elementary school has done so, according to school officials.

The next regularly scheduled Sturgis City Council meeting will be held Monday night, December 7th, at 6:00.
