Evansville Police arrested 22 year old DEVONTAE WADDELL on weapon and theft charges following a 911 call about a man with a gun in the 1000 block of W. Delaware St on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the release, officers were called to the area around 5:30pm when a citizen saw a man, later identified as Waddell, with a handgun. Waddell left in a vehicle that was stopped by police a short time later.
During the investigation, Officers reportedly found a loaded handgun in the vehicle. Police say a check of the gun’s serial number showed it had been reported stolen in Madisonville Kentucky.
Waddell was arrested for Possession of a Handgun Without a Permit and Receiving a Stolen Handgun.
