State police investigating series of eastern Ky. fires

BOONEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police investigators are asking for help in tracking down anyone responsible for a half-dozen fires in eastern Kentucky.

State police say the fires occurred in Owsley, Lee and Jackson counties between Jan. 1 and March 6.

Police say the first two occurred at a campground in Lee County on Jan. 1. A camper trailer and a wooden structure were destroyed. Another fire destroyed a camper trailer at the same location Jan. 9.

An Owsley County residence was destroyed by fire on Feb. 10.

Then on Feb. 18, a Jackson County residence was destroyed by fire.

A March 6 fire destroyed a camper trailer in Lee County.

Anyone with information for any of the fires is asked to contact state police at 859-623-2404 or the Arson Task Force at 1-800-272-7766.
