State police investigating death of Boyle County inmate

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Frankfort man who was an inmate at the Boyle County Detention Center.

Boyle County Jailor Barry Harmon tells The Advocate-Messenger (http://bit.ly/1U51oix ) that 32-year-old Ronald L. Hulette II died at a Danville hospital early Saturday after complaining of heartburn that morning and then collapsing.

Kentucky State Police were called in to investigate, as is protocol. Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Harmon says Hulette had been transferred from Woodford County the day before his death to participate in the Boyle County jail’s substance abuse program. He says Hulette was not under the influence of substances when he arrived.

Hulette had been facing numerous charges, including third-degree burglary and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
