Southbound Lane Restriction on US 41 Strip at HENDERSON on Wednesday, Sept 21

Motorists traveling the southbound US 41 Strip in Henderson need to be aware of a lane restriction beginning Wednesday.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd indicates the southbound lane restriction on the US 41 Strip will run from the Barret Boulevard intersection to near the US 41/US 60 Cloverleaf at Henderson. This will allow crews to replace drains to remove moisture from beneath the roadway and to complete base repairs on a couple of recurring industrial-strength potholes near the Long John Silver’s restaurant.

In order to facilitate the work, Todd says southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane and initially shifted to the left via the media turn lane at this site. Sometime in the afternoon, he indicates southbound traffic will be shifted to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone.

The southbound work zone will be in place from 7:30 a.m. CDT Wednesday to around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Due to the extended work required at the site and the use of heavy equipment, Todd says delays are likely, and southbound motorists should consider a self-detour, if possible.

According to Todd, about 37-thousand vehicles travel this section of the US 41 Strip at Henderson in an average day.
