Services set for military pilot killed in helicopter crash

MCHENRY, Ill. (AP) — Funeral services have been set for an Army pilot from Illinois who was killed earlier this month in a helicopter crash near a Kentucky military base.

The body of 32-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 2 Kevin Mose Weiss will be escorted in a procession through McHenry, Illinois, on Wednesday afternoon ahead of a visitation and funeral slated for this weekend.

The Northwest Herald (http://bit.ly/1NuGd20 ) reports that the visitation will be held Friday at Justen Funeral Home and Crematory in McHenry, followed by the funeral Saturday morning at The Harvest Bible Church in Crystal Lake.

Weiss and a second pilot were killed Dec. 2 when the AH-64D Apache attack helicopter they were flying out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, crashed during a training exercise.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
