Robert A. Washum, age 70 was born August 23, 1948 in Paris, TN to Robert & Bertha Washum. He departed this life at 9:55 PM Friday, Feb 1, 2019 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Robert was united in matrimony to Brenda Nesbitt on March 28, 1970. He was a devoted member of Bowman Chapel CME Church in Morganfield, where he was the head steward and loved to sing in the choir. Immediately after graduating Lane College, he moved to Morganfield in 1973 where he was a residential counselor at Earle C. Clements Job Corps. He was known and loved by his community, so much so that he received the highest title of honor by the Governor of Kentucky; that of Kentucky Colonel. You could find Robert fishing, mowing or cheering for UK on any given day. He was just like his dad, that he never met a stranger.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife of nearly 49 years, Brenda of Morganfield; his children Robert Lee “Bobby” Washum (Sheila) of Evansville, IN and Nicholas “Nick” Eugene Washum (Danette) of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren; 3 brothers Charles Ray Washum of Paris, TN, Jerry Washum (Pat) of Peoria, IL, and Lakeith Washum (Trena) of Nashville, Tn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
