A Henderson woman is facing first degree wanton endangerment charges after police say she tried to hit her boyfriend with a vehicle.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, a witness called 911 Saturday morning and stated he observed a vehicle attempt to run over a man on O’Grady Street. Deputies located 29 year old Dalvis Ray of Henderson who had been in an argument with his girlfriend, 24 year old Haley Gentry of Henderson. Ray had reportedly left his residence on Alma Avenue and was walking on O’Grady Street when police say Gentry took her grandmother’s vehicle and followed him. Police indicate a witness stated that Gentry tried to hit Ray with the vehicle, but lost control and struck a fence at a home on O’Grady Street.

Gentry was taken into custody on the above charge and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
