An elderly woman assaulted by her son almost two weeks ago has died.
70 year old Diana Gail Duncan of Madisonville died from her injuries Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, according to a Madisonville Police Department report released Monday night.
As reported previously by WMSK News, Madisonville Police officers responded to an open “911” line call at a home on Hillcrest Drive in Madisonville on January 12th and found Duncan severely injured in her bedroom. She was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health and then airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital.
Her son, 47 year old Larry Shawn Duncan, was arrested and charged with first degree domestic violence assault. Police say he is now charged with domestic violence murder for the death of his 70 year old mother.
Duncan remains lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
