Owensboro man charged with numerous offenses after high-speed pursuit

An Owensboro man is facing numerous charges, including drug possession, after a vehicle pursuit with police on U.S. Highway 231 in Daviess County just after midnight.

While on patrol around 12:20 Friday morning in the 300 block of Frederica Street a Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputy reported witnesses a vehicle driven by 30 year old Skiler Glover run a red light at the intersection of West 3rd. Authorities say the deputy activated his emergency equipment, but Glover refused to stop and continued south on Frederica Street at a high rate of speed and then turned west on West 4th going the wrong way, almost stirking several vehicles traveling east. The pursuit continued until authorities say Glover’s car became disabled near the railroad tracks on West 2nd Street and he eventually stopped at Martin Way and Hummingbird Loop where he and his passenger, 47 year old John Odle, were arrested by sheriff’s deputies and Owensboro Police. Authorities indicate a loaded handgun was located under the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

Glover was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center facing several traffic-related offenses, a couple of warrants, and Possession of Firearm By Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Wanton Endangerment.

According to authorities, his passenger, Odle was charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.
