Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in connection to a burglary.
Owensboro Police detectives are searching for William Merriweather after they say he forced his way into an apartment in the 700 block of Sycamore Street and brandished a handgun around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016. He then reportedly demanded money from the resident, but left the scene after a brief physical altercation.
According to police, Merriweather has four separate outstanding warrants for his arrest that are unrelated to this incident. They include charges of second degree burglary and first degree robbery.
Merriweather is described by police as a black male about 6 feet and 160 pounds.
