Authorities say a 16 year old Owensboro girl is in stable condition after police say she was shot in the neck early this morning.
Owensboro Police report officers responded to a shooting call around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of George Street where they found the female juvenile with a gunshot wound to her neck. She was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment.
According to police, the initial investigation into this incident revealed that the gun used by two teenage males, ages 14 and 16, was previously reported stolen.
Authorities have charged both male juveniles with receiving stolen property.
Owensboro Police are continuing to investigate what led to the shooting.
