OPD Officer recognized for enforcement efforts

The Owensboro Police Department was well represented during the 2016 Governor’s Occupant Protection Awards Ceremony held July 27th, 2016 in Lexington, KY.

During the ceremony, officers from across Kentucky were recognized for their efforts to enforce the seatbelt and child restraint laws; laws which encourage the use of restraints that statistically save lives.

Officer Jason Lee, a 7 year veteran of the Owensboro Police Department, issued 419 seatbelt and child restraint citations during the past year.

Congratulations Officer Lee for your efforts to keep Owensboro safe. Your dedication is one reason the Owensboro Police Department’s Buckle Up Owensboro. Seat Belts Save Lives campaign continues to be such a great
success!
