…LIGHT SNOW IS FALLING ACROSS MUCH OF THE LISTENING AREA THIS MORNING…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH SAYS ONE AREA OF MAINLY LIGHT SNOW WILL SPREAD EASTWARD FROM SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS THROUGH WEST KENTUCKY BY DAYBREAK. CURRENTLY, THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE BAND IS ROUGHLY ALONG A METROPOLIS ILLINOIS TO CADIZ KENTUCKY LINE. METEROLOGISTS INDICATE UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE IN AREAS FROM VIENNA ILLINOIS TO PRINCETON AND ELKTON KENTUCKY.

SECOND AREA OF LIGHTER SNOWS WILL MOVE EAST SOUTHEAST…GENERALLY ALONG THE I-64 CORRIDOR IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS THROUGH DAYBREAK…AND
THEN ACROSS SOUTHWEST INDIANA THROUGH MID-MORNING. A DUSTING UP TO A HALF INCH OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE…WITH THE GREATEST AMOUNTS GENERALLY NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WARNS MOTORISTS THE MINOR ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW GENERALLY BELOW 1 INCH MAY RESULT IN SOME SLICK SPOTS ON AREA ROADS THIS MORNING. BRIDGES AND UNTREATED…LESSER TRAVELED ROADS WILL HAVE THE MOST PROBLEMS. MOTORISTS SHOULD SLOW DOWN AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR DESTINATIONS. CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE QUICKLY AFTER SUNRISE.
