NWS Special Statement for Sunday Feb. 11th

…Light wintry precipitation possible this morning and then
again this evening…

Temperatures early this morning will be near the freezing mark
along the Ohio River. This may allow for a period or patches of
light freezing rain or light freezing drizzle at times. While road
temperatures are safely above freezing, there might still develop
some slick spots on things like bridges and overpasses. A light
glaze is most likely on metallic objects, like cars and walk
rails.

A midday lull in the precipitation is anticipated. Then, late this
afternoon into the evening, another round of light wintry
precipitation is forecast to develop, especially across the
Pennyrile region of western Kentucky. Temperatures will once
again be right at or just below freezing during this time frame. A
light wintry mix of light freezing rain, light sleet, and snow
will be possible. However, amounts will be so light that any
accumulations of snow or ice will be quite minimal. The main
impact will continue to be for isolated slick spots potentially
occurring on things like bridges, overpasses, and untreated or
secondary less traveled roads.
