THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS EXPANDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS… SOUTHWEST INDIANA AND WESTERN KENTUCKY.

* UNTIL 7 AM CDT MONDAY.

* WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE WATCH AREA INTO THIS EVENING AND THROUGH MUCH OF TONIGHT. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL AVERAGE 2 TO 3 INCHES…
WITH SOME ISOLATED HEAVIER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* CONSIDERABLE RUN OFF FROM THE HEAVY RAINS MAY LEAD TO FLASH
FLOODING ALONG SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS…AND IN OTHER LOW LYING AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
