MPD: Morganfield couple arrested for multiple drug charges

A disturbance call Wednesday reportedly led the arrest of a Morganfield couple for trafficking drugs, manufacturing meth and multiple other offenses.

According to Morganfield Police Chief Craig Bolds, officers responded to the call around 8:30 at the home of 50 year old Charles and 52 year old Donna Biggers in the 500 block of Hughes Street. During the investigation, he reports officers saw a meth pipe that appeared to have residue on it laying in plain view, and when tested officers determined it contained methamphetamine.

After getting a search warrant for the residence, Chief Bolds says officers found evidence of trafficking meth and marijuana, along with amounts of both drugs and drug paraphernalia. He reports officers also found evidence that is indicative of manufacturing meth, as well as several pills that were a controlled substance not in the proper container.

The couple was lodged in the Union County Detention Center charged for first degree trafficking in controlled substance 1st offense (meth), possession of methamphetamine, trafficking marijuana less than 8 ounces, possession of marijuana, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, second degree wanton endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
