MPD: 911 calls leads to arrest of Morganfield man for trafficking drugs, 2nd DUI

Police say a 911 call netted the arrest of a Morganfield man for drug trafficking and his second DUI.

Morganfield Police Officer Stefon Douglas tells WMSK News Union County Dispatch received a 911 call Saturday afternoon regarding a vehicle that had run off the roadway. Officer Stefon Douglas found the vehicle on Highway 130 and began an investigation on the driver of the vehicle, 48 year old Timothy Sheffer. During the investigation, he says Sheffer was observed trying to reach an area in his truck and when Officer Douglas looked in the area he found a plastic baggie containing 3.6 grams of meth.

Sheffer was taken into custody and lodged in the Union County Jail for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (> or = 2 grams meth), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense and leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance.
