MPD: 4-month investigation leads to drug roundup of 14 individuals

After a four month investigation, Madisonville Police and the Hopkins County Vice Narcotics Unit conducted a drug roundup Thursday that netted the arrest of fourteen (14) people.

Madisonville Police tells WMSK News a warrant service team assembled around 8:30 a.m. Thursday for the purpose of serving multiple warrants. As a result of the four month long investigation, police say 27 drug/weapon related arrest warrants were issued. They say the drug roundup concluded around 1:00 p.m. Thursday and resulted in the arrest of following  fourteen (14) individuals:

32 year old Michael Cartwright for two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and fraudulent firearm transaction;

40 year old William Jackson for fraudulent firearm transaction;

39 year old Charles Hatcher for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth);

23 year old Jordan Kirkwood for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth);

24 year old Richard Hicks for two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth);

38 year old Jarrod Young for first degree possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia;

41 year old Steven Gray for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than two (2) grams of meth and first degree trafficking in a controlled substance less than two (2) grams of meth;

32 year old David Ezell for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth);

28 year old Jeffery Belt for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than two (2) grams of meth and second degree trafficking in a controlled substance – drug unspecified;

52 year old Phillip Phelps for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth) second offense;

30 year old Harold Daugherty for first degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, operating on a suspended operator’s license and operating an ATV on the roadway;

44 year old Toni Hicks for an out of county Bench Warrant;

49 year old Timothy Tandy for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd or greater offense (drug unspecified) and first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (drug unspecified);

30 year old Jack Mullens for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth).

The fourteen individuals were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.

Meanwhile, Madisonville Police indicate the following individuals are still at large:

28 year old Erica Skaggs

41 year old Brandon Duke

35 year old Steven Jones

36 year old Candis Spinks

39 year old Reba Crunk

33 year old Heather Clark
