Morganfield Police Department Arrest Man who Fled on Foot Saturday 05-20-17.

In a Press Release from Morganfield Police Department on Saturday May 20,2017 at around 9AM Sergeant Eric McCallister attempted to make contact with an individual after someone reported they believed the subject had just stolen a moped from another residence. Upon Sergeant McCallister’s arrival he believed the subject to be Danny Joe Barnaby whom was wanted for Felony Warrants issued from the Union County Sheriff’s Office in 2016 when Barnaby was stopped on a four wheeler possessing a riffle (as a convicted felon), trespassing on private property, giving a false name and then fleeing on a four wheeler from Deputy Thomas. When Sergeant McCallister asked if the subject was Danny Joe he gave a false name and pushed his moped over in the direction of McCallister and ran on foot. Sergeant McCallister wasn’t able to apprehend the subject on foot at that time. The subject had been seen by several individuals in the neighborhood who called 911 to report they saw the man in different backyards and trying to hide in garages. The Morganfield Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, and the Henderson County Sheriff K9 unit conducted a search of the area. The search lasted approximately 4 hours. Barnaby was lodged in the Union County Jail on Charges of Tbut or Disp all others U/$500, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot), Giving Officer False Identifying Information, Criminal Treaspassing-3rd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Pssession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, another charge of Giving Officer False Identifying Information.
