A local physical arrested and charged last year for cultivating marijuana and other offenses has pled guilty to amended charges.

According to Union County District Court documents, Dr. William Bebout appeared for a pretrial conference last Thursday and entered a guilty plea to 2nd degree wanton endangerment, amended from the original charge of cultivating marijuana less than five plants. In addition, he entered a guilty plea to two counts of first degree disorderly conduct, amended from the original charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The District Court judge also ordered the return of all legally possessed firearms that were confiscated by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Morganfield Police Department during Dr. Bebout’s arrest at his home in October 2015. The court document shows the judge stated the local physician must comply with all requisites of the Kentucky Board of Medicine and Kentucky Medical Licensure Board.

Dr. Bebout was arrested by local law enforcement agencies after a joint investigation led officers to his home on October 7, 2015 where they reportedly found and seized equipment indicative of an indoor marijuana growing operation, along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia and dozens of firearms.

After entering the guilty pleas to the amended charges, court documents show Dr. Bebout was placed on two years probation.
