Morganfield man charged in connection to local burglaries

A Morganfield man charged with trafficking meth in December of last year is back behind bars…this time charged with burglary and other offenses.

Morganfield Police Sergeant Geoffrey Deibler tells WMSK News 29 year old Alex Holt was arrested over the weekend following an investigation conducted by Detective Chad Vos.

Sgt. Deibler says they received information that Holt sold several items to a pawn shop in Henderson that were taken in a home burglary and recovered recovered by Detective Vos.

In addition, Sgt. Deibler says after Holt was taken into custody they received information that on September 22, 2014 he removed items from Judge George Drury’s home after the judge and his wife passed away. He indicates antique weapons, watches, jewelry and other items were stolen. According to Sgt. Deibler, they were able to recover two of the four weapons.

You may recall as reported by WMSK News in December 2014, Holt and his girlfriend were arrested after an investigation using a confidential informant who police say set up a controlled buy. Holt reportedly sold the undercover agent 3.4 grams of meth, which was captured under police surveillance.

According to Sgt. Deibler, more charges could be lodged against Holt, and more arrests could be made in connection to the burglaries.
