Morganfield man charged for wanton endangerment, assault

A Morganfield man has been arrested on warrants in connection to a shooting and assault that occurred in Henderson.

Henderson Police report 23 year old Lovechild McGuire of West Carlisle Street, Morganfield was located by an officer at 2236 US 41 North around 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Police indicate McGuire was arrested on warrants for first degree assault, first degree wanton endangerment and fourth degree assault (domestic violence).

On September 4, 2016, Henderson Police say an officer was flagged down by 19 year old Kyrin Jones who stated he had been shot while walking with friends in the 400 block of South Adams Street. Police say a video of the shooting showed Jones and McGuire fighting in the street. The video also reportedly showed McGuire retrieving a handgun from a vehicle and then shooting it in the direction of Jones. The police release says Jones suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities indicate two of the bullets entered a home at 427 S. Adams Street where the resident was sitting in the living room.

According to police, the assault fourth degree warrant stems from a domestic violence report which occurred on November 20, 2016 where a female told police that McGuire grabbed her around the neck and threatened to kill her. Police say the victim had visible injuries to her upper chest and neck.

Following his arrest, McGuire was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center.
