Methodist Physician Group welcomes new surgeon; plans ribbon-cutting and open house event

Methodist Physician Group invites community members to a ribbon-cutting and open house event for General Surgery from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017. Located within Methodist Hospital Union County at 4604 US Highway 60 West in Morganfield; the recently relocated office provides a comprehensive coordination of care with convenient access to support services, such as lab, imaging, rehabilitation, and, if necessary, an Emergency Department that recently earned Level IV Trauma certification.

Alan Tripp, DO, the newest member of the Methodist Physician Group Surgical Services team, along with his colleague Vinod Soni, MD, will be welcoming community members for the 3 p.m. ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Morganfield and Sturgis Chambers of Commerce.

Dr. Soni is board certified by the American Board of Abdominal Surgery and has over 40 years of experience in general surgery, specializing in breast disease, skin cancer, abdominal surgery, carpal tunnel, gallbladder disease and examination of the stomach and colon with video endoscope.

Dr. Tripp attended Washburn University in Topeka, KS where he completed a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed his general surgery residency at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH.

Board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, Dr. Tripp has more than 12 years of experience in general surgery and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He will practice at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Hospital Union County.

Following the ribbon-cutting, community members will have the opportunity to meet Lynn Renee Steinwachs, the new Vice President and Administrator at Methodist Hospital Union County, and learn more about the plans for the new Emergency Department. Tours of the Hospital and free healthcare screenings will be offered. Refreshments will be served.
