Marion Police investigating armed robbery at fast food restaurant

Police in Marion, Kentucky are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at a fast food restaurant.

The Crittenden Press News is reporting just before midnight an armed man dressed in black robbed two McDonald’s employees of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Marion Police Chief Ray O’Neal told the local newspaper a female shift manager and a male employee were walking to their vehicles in the parking lot after closing when the robber stepped out from behind one of the cars, brandished a handgun and told them to “get down and give me the bag.” He reportedly took a money bag the female was carrying and then fled on foot toward Poplar Street, which runs behind the McDonald’s restaurant.

Marion Police and the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office reportedly searched for the robber in neighborhoods behind the fast food restaurant for almost three hours, but were unsuccessful in finding the subject. Police described the robber as a white male, about 5’6” or 5’8”, a slim build, and wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and sunglasses.

According to the article, Marion Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the subject. If you have any information, please call (270) 965-3500 and you can remain anonymous. TipLine is offering a reward in this case.
