Man wanted for burglary in Owensboro arrested in Florida

A man wanted for a burglary in Owensboro has been arrested in Florida.

Owensboro Police report 34 year old Joshua Havener was taken into custody around 4:30 Tuesday morning at a residence in Walton County with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Owensboro Police had issued a warrant for Havener’s arrest in connection to a burglary on August 19 that occurred around 3:20 in the morning when officers responded to a burglary in progress call after a homeowner on Landsdowne South awoke and found a white male armed with a knife unlawfully in his home. Police say the homeowner fired one round from his handgun at the burglar who then fled the scene.

According to authorities, additional homes in the immediate area were also found to have signs of attempted entry and a red Dodge Ram pickup truck was reported stolen from the 4400 block of Hillcrest Oaks.

Havener is currently lodged in the Walton County Jail for Burglary 1st Degree and is awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.
