Man Charged for DUI, Wanton Endangerment, After Wrecking Vehicle With 6 Year Old Son Inside

An Owensboro is facing DUI and wanton endangerment charges after a single vehicle wreck on the Audubon Parkway in Daviess County.

Around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Kentucky State Police say 26 year old Audencio Rios-Sandoval Sr., of Owensboro was driving his vehicle eastbound on the Audubon Parkway at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles unsafely when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then went off the roadway and overturned multiple times before coming to final rest upright against a tree. Police say Sandoval and his 6 year old son, Audencio Rios-Sandoval Jr., were both removed from the vehicle before it burst into flames.

According to KSP, Sandoval and his son were both transport to Owensboro ER were they were treated and released.

Sandoval was arrested on multiple charges including first degree Operating Motor Vehicle under the influence of alcohol – aggravated and 5 counts of first degree wanton endangerment.

The Sorgho Airport Fire Department, Daviess County Fire and Daviess County Sheriff’s Office assisted KSP on the scene.
