Motorists traveling the KY 56 Ohio River Shawneetown Bridge need to be aware of a lane restriction this afternoon.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say the lane restriction will start about 12:30 this afternoon and is expected to be in place for about two hours. Officials indicate the lane restriction is to facilitate electrical work on the bridge navigational light system.
Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers, and use appropriate caution.
The Shawneetown Bridge connects KY 56, the Morganfield-Shawneetown Road, with Illinois Route 13 across the Ohio River between Morganfield and Shawneetown, Illinois.
