KYTC: Rolling Road Blocks on US 41 Near US 41/US 60 Henderson Cloverleaf MONDAY Evening

KYTC NEWS RELEASE

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans rolling road blocks with brief traffic stoppages along US 41 near the US 41/US 60 Henderson Cloverleaf on Monday evening, March 7, 2016.

According to spokesman Keith Todd, the rolling road blocks starting at about 8 p.m., CST, are to create a break in traffic to allow the contractor to remove old overhead sign truss structures above the roadway.

Kentucky State Police will assist the the sign truss removal by slowing traffic to create a gap in traffic. The gap in traffic with about a 10 tminute halt in traffic will allow time for a crane to remove the truss systems in place at the following locations:

8:00 p.m., CST, Monday
US 41 both northbound and southbound lanes at mile point 16.25 just north of the US 41/US 60 Cloverleaf at Henderson. This is along US 41 near the Long John Silver’s Restaurant and requires traffic to be halted in both directions.

10:00 p.m., CST, Monday
US 41 northbound and southbound lanes at mile point 15.75 immediately south of the US 41/US 60 Cloverleaf at Henderson. This requires traffic to be halted in both directions.

The contractor expects rolling road blocks with a duration of about 10 minutes each. Traffic may be halted during part of that time to facilitate the sign truss removal.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic at these locations and times. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
